First Place award  and opening the Municipal Gallery in Escondido.


The clue of the purpose of the structure is revealed by the lower left drape. The circular concrete understructure is to become a sound barrier and retaining wall after curing behind the drapes. You are at the 38th parallel latitude not in Baghdad, but San Diego. This is part of the Highway 15 expansion and where there was once dirt in the front row, now streams 70 mph traffic



This print took first place in “Beyond the Lens” exhibit in July 10-August 16 2008 opening the new Municipal Gallery in Escondido, CA on 262 E. Grand. The award was given by Arthur Olman, former Director of the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts.
